The United States Embassy abuts Upper Brook Street and The Handel House Museum is also on Brook Street at number 25. It was the home of the German born baroque composer George Frideric Handel from 1723 until his death. Handel composed works such as The Messiah, Zadok the Priest and the Music for the Royal Fireworks there.
Jimi Hendrix, another famous former resident, lived next door at number 23 for a time.
